I'm photographer David duChemin. Welcome here. I created Craft & Vision in 2008 as a way to get my books and other resources into your hands to help you learn this craft with greater focus and depth while avoiding all the noise and the gimmicks so prevalent in popular photography. Those shortcuts and platitudes tend to keep people spinning their wheels and encourage dependence on a constant flow of tips and tricks rather than simple mastery of craft. 

An impassioned champion of the amateur (those who do this for the sheer love of creating and seeing the world in new ways), my focus is on the importance of vision, craft, and creativity. I want to teach you, but I also want to encourage and inspire you.

Behind these pages is a small team of real people based in British Columbia, Canada. My team and I care deeply about the photographers we serve. We've got your back.
