Reviews and Comments
  1. I have been perusing the various ebooks available and reading the comments. They are all very helpful. I look forward to reading my new treasure trove of information on photography, photographs, and photographers.

  2. Great comments so far. We all seem to be in agreement that this ebook is a definite win in that it provides great value to its intended reader.
I especially enjoyed the way it was written, by a non-photographer who has spent a lot of time near some pretty amazing photographers. I think that allows him to be really objective because he is not too close or too involved.
I was surprised that the second half of the book was completely devoted to collaboration, but upon reflection after reading it I really understand why it was done that way. I appreciate that he has singled out the few common reasons that photographers fail consistently, and addressed it directly enough to allow each of us to challenge our paradigm.
I have also written a review of the eBook, along with other Craft and Vision titles on my blog.

  3. “Your Creative Mix” talks about re-claiming back and keeping afloat your inspiration. It is written for people earning money on their creativity. If you are spending all your time pursuing projects for your clients and studying portfolios of your competitors, regardless if photography is your day or weekend job, take some time off to read this e-book. It is full of practical advice, but also of Corwin Hiebert’s life stories and stories provide by other artists. Those examples of real life case studies, artists sharing their projects, are added value in the e-book, and bring all theoretical advice to life. “Your Creative Mix” is also illustrated by those artists photographs, including author’s ;). Beautifully produced,
39 pages spread e-book is a great value. This is just a fragment of the review I wrote on my blog. You can read it here: http://bit.ly/p8d4sZ)

  4. The most interesting part of the book for me was that the author is not a photographer, I found this very refreshing. The reason for me is that every other photographer out there has written an ebook on how to make money with your photographs, this is not one of them.

This eBook is about reclaiming and growing your creativity. It’s a book that any “creative” would find useful and entertaining. Corwin offers some questions to help you hone your creative skills, he calls this creating your “Creative Toolbox”, the questions require a lot of thinking and self reflection. I also liked Corwin’s extra chapter on brainstorming ideas with a close friend, I am excited to use his technique for my own business. If you are feeling a bit blocked or not sure where to go next in your craft, pick up this ebook, you won’t regret it.

  5. Corwin is real, practical and definitely doesn’t beat around the bush. This e-book, aimed at photographers, but applicable to all creative pursuits, breaks down marketing barriers and pre-conceived notions, that shove all creatives in a locked box and throw away the key. Constantly people pleasing clients and “whoring” ourselves photographically is not the way to do it, Corwin insists. It is in discovering our individual creative mix and following our own creative vision within our community that we will embark on a journey that inspires others and satisfies that itch that we’ve always had.
Easy to read and full of practical questions to spark creativity and vision in your photographic journey.

  6. As an entrepreneur “on the inside” of two creative industries (publishing and photography), I feel that I’m in a good position to comment on the content in this eBook. Firstly, the value here is just exceptional. This is not a photography book packed with photos, so at 39 page-spreads (that’s like 78 real pages), you’re getting a tremendous value at the $5 price point. I mean really – if you feel that a photography business is in the cards for you tomorrow, or five years from now, you absolutely can’t go wrong here.

Corwin writes in a clear and easy to follow manner, and I found there to be an excellent balance of content in the form of photography business insights, lessons, rants, interviews, information, and informal case studies. It’s this balance which keeps the book interesting; I didn’t want to put it down, and for a business book, that’s saying a lot. The aesthetics of the book are beautiful, the supporting photos were well selected, and the layout makes reading enjoyable.

Just to be clear, this new eBook is by all accounts, a business book for photographers. Corwin is admittedly not a photographer; he’s a highly successful entrepreneur who’s here to share his secrets on managing a creative business, specifically as it relates to the business world of photography. Your Creative Mix has a lot to offer from a true expert in the field.
